Interview With: Trish Baehr Schaefer
of Madison, WI
What did you like most about the course?
The written info provided in addition to the internet course was awesome. I began the course not having ever worked with short sales or pre-foreclosures and not being able to tell anyone what the difference between the two--now I pipe up and volunteer info about both subjects due to the great amount of knowledge I picked up from the course.
What was your biggest takeaway from the course?
It was so interesting to hear about how much (or should I say "how little"!) a second mortgage holder is willing to take to close the deal. I feel much more informed about how to advise clients and help them calculate whether foreclosure is right for them--also when a short sale is most probable.
What actions did you take from applying what you learned in the course?
I have since purchased a large list of REO departments within lending institutions and will be contacting them touting my specialized training and offering my services.
What results did you create from applying what you learned?
I have been able to give good advice to those people in our office that did not take the course yet.
If you would recommend the course to others, please express why with a few words:
I am recommending everyone in our office take this course--this specialized training will be critical as more and more homeowners fall into loan default--and do not have the knowledge to make the right decisions for themselves.
If you could learn about or master one additional skill to help you as an agent, what would it be?
Last week I completed the exam for Auctioneering. I am excited about this new revenue avenue.
I intend to purchase the Luxury Home Specialist this week or next. I will continue to "shop" for designations at RealtyU!
