Interview With: Dana Lamp of Dennison, OH

What did you like most about the course?

The fact that this is a huge part of the market today was the real push on my part to recieve this designation & the fact that I am the first one in our area to actually get the designation, not just say they specialize in it.

Of course being on-line and able to work on it at my own paces is a big plus, because as we all know we have to work harder with the market being what it is.

What was your biggest takeaway from the course?

I got so much out of it, I cannot say just one thing. I liked having a pre-organized list of what the banks want, and the samples of it all. I really enjoyed listening to Jacob's lectures. He is very good at what he does & you can deffinately tell he does what he teaches.

What actions did you take from applying what you learned in the course?

1st, I had my assistant go to the courthouse weekly to get a list of Mortgage defaults. My marketing manager mails letters to all of these people to introduce myself & offer my assistance.
2nd step was to do a mailing to my inner circle to let them know I recieved my certification
I released the "Press release" to the paper & it was in the Real Estate pull-out.
Our office has a Cable TV show and my broker and I did a 10 minute Q&A on short sales
We scheduled a seminar at the office for 7/28/08 that is open to the public. We are calling it "How to negotiate with your mortgage company."

We are advertising this on TV, newspaper & my mailings. I am mailing a reminder post card to all my inner circle & the names I got from the Courthouse on defaults.

What results did you create from applying what you learned?

So far, just since May, when I got my certificate, I have gotten 3 new listings directly from these mailings. I am talking to 4 other people from one of these related mailings and advertising.

If you would recommend the course to others, please express why with a few words:

The list of items to include in the packet, the marketing tools & the motivation I got from Jacobs lecture are priceless.

If you could learn about or master one additional skill to help you as an agent, what would it be?

How to cinch the expired listings.
